Single Trip Overweight Permit

- Base Fee: $10
Excess Weight Fees:

- $5 per ton (or fraction thereof) over 80,000 pounds GVW.
- $5 per ton (or fraction thereof) over the following axle weights:
- 22,400 lbs on a single axle,
- 34,000 lbs on a tandem axle.
- A 5% leeway is allowed on axle weights
- Transaction Fee: $12
- Service Charge: 5%

Single Trip Over-dimensional Permit

- Base Fee: $10
Excess Dimensional Fees:

- $1 per foot (or fraction thereof) over 14 feet in width.
- $1 per foot (or fraction thereof) over various length restrictions:
- For non-house related loads: Trailer/Load Length > 63 feet,
- For house related loads: Overall Length > 70 feet.
- Transaction Fee: $12
- Service Charge: 5%

Single Trip Over-dimensional & Overweight Permit

- Base Fee: $20
- Excess Weight and Dimensional Fees apply as described above.
- Transaction Fee: $12
- Service Charge: 5%
Overweight/Over-dimensional Route Permit

- Required for moving heavy equipment/machinery over 80,000 lbs.
- Registration Fee: $209.50 annually (paid to MVC).
- Permit Cost: Includes a $12 transaction fee and a 5% service charge.
- Excess Dimensional Fees apply when:
- The load exceeds the Code 23 registered trailer limits or,
- The vehicle exceeds 10 feet in width or 70 feet in overall length.
Over-dimensional Trailer Permit (Code 23)

- Applies to the movement of an oversize Code 23 trailer.
- Permit Fee: $12.60 (includes a $12 transaction fee and 5% service charge).
- This permit is valid for the life of the trailer, as long as the Code 23 registration remains valid.
- Note: This permit is not valid if the vehicle exceeds 10 feet in width or 70 feet in length.
New Jersey Trip and Fuel Permits

- Trip Permit: $25, valid for 72 hours. Issued in lieu of IRP plates.
- Fuel Permit: $25, valid for 96 hours. Issued in lieu of IFTA licensing.
- Permits can be obtained through a permitting service, which may charge an additional processing fee.
