Wyoming Permit Regulations:
Statutory Size Limits:

- Width: 8′ 6″
- Height: 14′
- Length:
- 60′ for a single unit or a semi-trailer in a truck-tractor, semi-trailer combination.
- 81′ for semi-trailer/trailer combinations with a truck-tractor (48′ max for semi-trailer, 40′ max for trailer or second semi-trailer). If the trailers have more than a 5,000-pound weight difference, the heavier trailer must be placed first behind the tractor.
- 85′ for any other combination of vehicles.
- Vehicle Combinations: No combination of more than three single vehicles is allowed.
Statutory Weight Limits:

- Tandem Axle: 36,000 pounds
- Triple Axle: 42,000 pounds
- Per Wheel: 10,000 pounds
- Per Tire:
- Steering: 750 lbs./inch of stamped tire width
- Other Tires: 600 lbs./inch of stamped tire width
Gross Weight:

- Interstate: Up to 117,000 pounds (based on Table I formula)
- Primary & Secondary Roads:
- 80,000 pounds (Table II)
- 117,000 pounds (Table I by formula)
Oversize/Overweight Limits Requiring Clearance:
For dimensions or weights exceeding the statutory limits, contact a Wyoming Port of Entry or Highway Shop for clearance. These thresholds are:

- Length: 120′ (combination unit)
- Single Axle Weight: 25,000 pounds
- Tandem Axle Weight: 55,000 pounds
- Triple Axle Weight: 65,000 pounds
- Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW): 160,000 pounds
- Construction Equipment with large tires: 55,000 pounds per single axle
Permit Fees:
Non-Divisible Oversize Loads:

- $25.00 base fee plus $0.03 per foot per mile for dimensions exceeding 15′ wide, 15′ high, or 75′ long.
Non-Divisible Overweight Loads:

- $40.00 minimum plus $0.06 per ton per mile for the excess weight.
Wyoming Trip and Fuel (IRP / IFTA) Permits:
Trip Permits:
For vehicles registered in another jurisdiction, a temporary permit can be issued for up to 96 hours for a fee of:

- $20 for each single unit
- $40 for each legal combination of units (including one power unit)
Fuel Permits:
Instead of standard fuel tax and license fees, operators may obtain a temporary permit valid for up to 96 hours:

- $7.50 for each single unit
- $15 for each combination of units (with one power unit)
