Staying current with state permits is crucial for truckers to ensure legal compliance and avoid costly fines or delays. These permits help streamline operations, ensuring that truckers can transport goods smoothly across state lines without regulatory issues.
New Hampshire Oversize and Overweight Restrictions
Single Trip Permit Restrictions
A single-trip permit will not be issued if the vehicle and load exceed:

- 15 feet in width,
- 110 feet in length,
- 13 feet 6 inches in height, or
- Gross weight qualifies as a Supermove (see below).
Supermove Permits
A Supermove permit is required if:

- Width exceeds 15 feet,
- Length exceeds 110 feet,
- Height exceeds 13 feet 6 inches, or
- Gross weight exceeds 149,999 pounds.
Permit Validity

- Standard single-trip permits are valid for 5 business days.
- Round trip permits (reverse route) are valid for 10 business days.
Permit Fees
-
- Over-length, over-width, or over-height: $6.
- Overweight permits (based on vehicle weight over registration):
- 50,000 pounds: $5.50,
- 50,001 to 60,000 pounds: $6.50,
- 60,001 to 70,000 pounds: $7.50,
- 70,001 to 80,000 pounds: $8.50,
- 80,001 to 90,000 pounds: $9.50,
- 90,001 to 100,000 pounds: $10.50,
- For each additional 10,000 pounds, $2 is added to the fee.
- Special Permit for moves within 100 miles of home location: $60 per unit.
- Annual Permit covering all types of moves: $115 per unit.
New Hampshire Trip and Fuel Permits

- Trip Permit (valid for 72 hours): $15.
- Fuel Permit (valid for 72 hours): $10.
