Non-Divisible Load Permits

Colorado Non-Interstate Overweight Divisible Quad Axle Permit

- For use on non-interstate highways only.
- The vehicle or trailer must have a quad-axle grouping, with axles spaced no more than 96 inches apart.
- Maximum Gross Weight: 110,000 pounds.

What is a Divisible Load Permit?
A divisible load is defined as a vehicle or load that can be divided into smaller parts within eight work hours without affecting the vehicle’s functionality or safety. Examples include cattle, grain, water, or sand. Colorado offers permits for divisible loads exceeding legal weight limits.
Colorado Annual Non-Divisible Load Permit
Permits cover overweight and oversized loads on interstate and state highways.

Colorado Chapter 6 Special Permit
These permits are for loads exceeding 200,000 pounds but not more than 500,000 pounds. They require a minimum of one pilot car in front and one behind the load.

Colorado Super Load Permit
Superload permits apply to both interstate and secondary state highways for vehicles exceeding 500,000 pounds or using a double dolly exceeding 15 feet wide.

Colorado Company Fleet Permit
For companies with oversized or overweight fleets (two or more vehicles), an annual company fleet permit ensures that all permits expire on the same date, improving administrative efficiency.

Vehicles added after the annual application date are charged a prorated fee depending on the remaining days until renewal.
Colorado Longer Vehicle Combination (LVC) Permit
LVC permits allow specific trailer combinations on designated routes to travel to terminals that are within 10 miles of LVC routes.

Colorado IRP 72-Hour Laden Weight/Fuel Tax Trip Permit
Commercial vehicles not apportioned for Colorado but occasionally operating within the state must obtain a 72-hour laden weight registration permit.

Colorado Manufactured Home Permit
Colorado allows the movement of manufactured homes under the following size limits:

- Width: Maximum of 16 feet at the base; eaves not restricted as long as the total width does not exceed 18 feet.
- Length: 110 feet, including the load overhang.
- Height: 15 feet 6 inches.
- Brakes: Required on at least three axles for 16-foot-wide homes.
- Maximum Speed: 60 miles per hour.
